The Main Stuff We Believe |
We believe that there is one God and that he is awesome. We believe in the Holy Trinity, even though we can’t completely understand it. The fact that we can’t understand it leaves us in awe of God.
We believe that Jesus is God. We believe he came to earth as a man, while still remaining God, lived a perfect life, died on a cross for the sins of all people, and rose from the dead so that those who receive him may know God. We believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life—that no one can get to God except through him (Click Here to download a half-sheet of questions and verses to help backup Christ’s deity).
We believe that the Bible is the word of God. We believe that God knows how to write a book (even if some “smart” people think they can show the Bible isn’t reliable) that is applicable to life – past, present, and future. We believe in every part of it, even the parts that we don’t understand. We accept all of it as from God for us to know him better and to live out his abundant life in us.
We believe that the Christian life is a journey – filled with both defeats and victories, with the purpose of making us look more and more like Jesus. We believe that Jesus will complete his work in us – he will just take the rest of our lives to complete that work.
We believe that Jesus is passionate about everyone, desiring all people to accept him as their Lord so that they may be forgiven of their sins and enjoy knowing him forever. Because of that, we will share Christ with others, both in word and deed.
